I specialize in treating symptoms and behaviors caused by crises in your life, small and large, one-time and cumulative. Clients who have experienced both recent and/or past disturbances are skillfully assisted in dealing with:

Incident-related Crises

Events that you or someone close to you experience, such as a catastrophic disaster (earthquake, fires), job layoff, a personal attack, car accident, witness to a violent crime, or any event which may cause shock, a fear for your safety or the impulse to fight or run away.

Marriage, divorce, graduation, employment, parenthood, “empty nest”, job promotion, illness, a loved one’s death,or any change that may result in a sense of loss, confusion and imbalance.

Developmental Trauma

Physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse, growing up with an alcoholic or mentally ill parent, witnessing or experiencing domestic violence that has in some way interfered with the normal course of one’s development.

Skilled assistance is provided clients who have experienced multiple traumas, considering that one’s ability to respond can become more difficult with a second or third crisis. People experiencing severe, multiple or on-going traumas are more vulnerable to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a severe anxiety disorder commonly resulting from the cumulative effects of one’s physical and emotional reactions to these difficult events.
